Heart of Fear

JFK was crowded and Alex was instinctively leery as she walked down the concourse. It wasn’t until arriving at the gate for her connecting flight that the female who had been following her met up with a male, and they approached.

“Ms. Fullerman, my name’s Jackson, this is Barrett,” the man said. “We’re here to escort you to Samuel Greenhagen.” They looked like they had just stepped off a CIA recruiting poster. “Is Mr. Grey with you?”

“No.” Their question obviously meant he hadn’t come back yet, or was still hiding…or worse.

“Do you know where he is?”

“No.”

“If you’ll come with us, please. There’s a plane waiting.”

“I don’t know who you people really are and I’m not going anywhere but home.”

“Mr. Greenhagen is waiting in the plane.”

“That isn’t good enough,” she replied defiantly.
